If you’re wondering how to grow your Amazon sales in 2017, these are the top four growth opportunities on Amazon this year.
In this 13 minute video, you’ll learn what these top 4 opportunities are, and how they will help you build a more solid, profitable, Amazon sales channel in 2017.
A couple of questions: First, how and where do I find products to private label? And second, is bundling still a good way to list products on Amazon?
Hi Mel,
Bundling IS still a good way to list products on Amazon, as long as 1) The bundle offers compelling to the customer (meaning you can’t just put any two products together and call it a bundle. 2) You are not bundling restricted items. Amazon has restricted a lot of name brands from being sold by 3rd party sellers. So if you can’t sell the individual item on Amazon, you aren’t allowed to bundle it either. So it’s important to verify that the individual product CAN be sold before considering it for a bundle.
There’s actually a lot that goes into putting together a profitable bundle, including packaging, product page, images, etc. We have an Amazon Bundles training program that takes you through sourcing, creating, selling and marketing bundles.
Regarding private label products, the old method of using a tool to pick a top 100 Amazon product and then copy it no longer works. The marketplace is too saturated with the same products because of that method.
The best way to identify a good private label product to sell is to focus on a category of products that you know/have an interest in, and then drill down into the sub-categories to find products that are in demand, that you can then find something in China that is slightly differentiated. So for example, let’s say you want to sell in the garden category. Garden markers are a hot product on Amazon in spring and summer. Rather than private labeling the exact same garden markers on Amazon that everyone else is selling, you’d look for a different style of market that would appeal to that target market.
You can find products on Alibaba, AliExpress and Global Sources to start.
I’ll be sharing a lot more about my private label process (which doesn’t involve “me-to” products), here on my blog this year, so keep checking back!
Lisa
Hi! Lisa,
I have products on Amazon but am not selling. Selling frying pans and table cloth. Please what strategy do I need.
Please also how can I take pictures that are acceptable on Amazon. I took pictures on a white background but are coming out brownish and can’t be accepted.
Thank you. Edith
Hi Edith,
It sounds like your products are either saturated on Amazon (too much competition), or it could be that you just need a good overhaul of your product pages.
Your product page copy, and SEO are critical to getting your page ranked in Amazon search. And your images are also critical in selling your product.
For the background images, send them to http://www.pixelz.com. They will replace your background with an Amazon accepted white background. They can also fix the color on your images to a certain degree. And the price per image is very reasonable.
As for more product selection and selling strategies, keep an eye out for my next emails/blog posts as I’ll be covering more about that!
Lisa
Thank you, Lisa. I appreciate the thoughts and advice.
Thanks Leslie! 🙂
Very well done Lisa!
Thanks Scott! 🙂
Thank you, Lisa. I know I need to change how I do business as I can see the writing on the Amazon wall with RA. Are you going to be doing a class on how to find and market private label?
Hi Joyce,
Yes, I am! I’ll be teaching the approach we’ve been using for the past 4 years to select the private branded products that we sell (it’s also used by my clients.)
It’s a different approach from what you see taught out there (pick a small, lightweight product in the top 100, with x number of reviews etc. etc.). That approach no longer works because so many people are using it.
I’ll be sharing more about the training in the next week or so!
Lisa
