Watch me spot and research a hot niche market in under 10 minutes.
The clues that lead to finding a profitable niche market for your physical product, info product or affiliate marketing business are everywhere!
You can repeat this simple process and find new, profitable niche markets on a regular basis!
Enjoyed the video on how to find a hot niche and research it. My question is how do you source it at a price where you can sell for a profit?
I realize you have classes on this kind of info, but I can’t afford that right now.
Hi Lisa, this is Brigitte. Remember me? Steampunk is HOT! I’ve been adding this style and in some cases only the keyword to my vintage clothing and have been doing awesome. I had a vintage dress up for sale for over two years. A deceased designer and hard to find item. I didn’t budge on my price. I realized a couple of weeks ago it had the steampunk look to it so I re-arranged my title to attract those buyers and yep, I got an offer right away. I got an offer of $150 for my $4 dress.
I plan to show people how to spot this trend in thrift stores myself soon. You’ll be helping me with that! haha. Keep up the good work.
Hi Brigitte! Congrats on tapping into the Steampunk demand! This trend has been and is on the rise, and there is a lot of opportunity globally to source inventory that is associated to the steampunk look. You have a such a good eye for niches and sub-niches in the vintage market, I know that you spot a LOT of trends that other people miss.!
You also bring up a good point in that often, people have inventory that is related to an existing trend, but since they don’t know the trend exists, they don’t use the keywords that people are searching for online to describe their products. So as you mentioned, they may have the perfect steampunk dress, but they’re still describing it as ‘vintage’ rather than steampunk. And the item sits and sits.
That’s why it’s so important to stay in the Product Sourcing Mindset and keep on top of trends, because you may have the hot product and not know it!
Thanks for sharing this… And I look forward to our 1:1 this month! 🙂

So, enjoyed the video. Your next one should be how you drill down and find those hot sub nitches. I use the same kind of research looking Amazon, and other shopping net works.
I will be looing for your next video.

Great post, Lisa! I enjoy seeing the niche marketing “guru” at work :0) And yes, I first learned about steampunk from Brigitte herself :0)
I have to comment on your response to Brigitte. It is so true about staying on top of trends, even for vintage items. Last year, I learned about Dorothy Thorpe Mad Men glassware from another eBay seller and realized I had a bowl from that time period listed. I immediately updated my title to incude “Dorothy Thorpe” and “Mad Men,” and a few days later, someone purchased my bowl after it had sat in my store for a couple of months!
Lisa,
great information. What page do you go to on MSN. There are several options and I am having a difficult time finding which page to start my trending search
Hi Dianne,
I have one of my browsers set to pull up MSN.com, so I check the MSN.com home page multiple times a day for trends. I found the Steampunk term on the home page. I also look at the Lifestyle pages, like Glo for example.
But I uncover the best trends because of what I call “the curiosity and the click”. Meaning, when I see a term, excerpt, headline, of photo, that catches my attention, I am curious to know what it’s about and I click to find out! I uncover gold that way. Most people look at something they and move on. Because they’re not curious. Being curious will make you a LOT of money!
Yours in sourcing success!

Hi Lisa,
I’m a new student, just enrolled in your program title the “Power of 10 Product Sourcing Course”. I’m so excited to be part of this highly sought after product sourcing training. Although, I’m new to online business platform but I enjoyed the Video on how to find a hot niche and research it. My question is how do I source a niche at a price where I can sell for a profit? Right now, I have no idea what niche to sell on eBay.
