10 years ago this month I walked away from a very successful career in corporate America with a dream to become a successful online business owner.
Looking back on it now, as a single parent with a 4 month old and a 4 year old, it was a pretty gutsy thing to do.
The “how” wasn’t clear to me when I made that decision.
But the “why” was very clear.
I wanted to be able to run an online business from my home and have the flexibility to be as hands on in my kid’s lives as possible. I also had a lifelong fire burning inside of me to be an entrepreneur.
So for me, not only is every Thanksgiving a celebration of blessings, it’s also a celebration of entrepreneurship.
Your “Why”
And I know that each and every one of you have your own personal “why” for running your business.
Whether it’s family oriented, financially based or personal fulfillment, behind every business is a person with an important “why”.
An Entrepreneurial Thanksgiving
So I wanted to take a moment on this “Entrepreneurial Thanksgiving” to tell you that I’m honored to be able to bring you the “how-to’s” that will help you successfully accomplish your business goals and fulfill your personal “why”.
Whether through training classes, coaching groups, consulting, emails or blog posts, I am dedicated to bringing you the high-quality, leading-edge strategies and tactics that will help you get where you want to go.
Finishing 2011 Strong and Looking Forward to 2012
We have a lot of exciting new things planned for 2012!
And I’ll be sharing those with you in the coming weeks.
But first, we need to finish 2011 strong! ๐
For some that means Black Friday Power Sourcing tonight!
For others, there’s listing, packing and shipping tomorrow.
I’ll be hitting the Black Friday sales for some arbitrageย sourcing tonight and early this morning, so that I can ship more boxes to Amazon FBA on Friday.
(If it’s not too crazy, I’ll try and get a video at the stores.)
So whether you’re celebrating Thanksgiving today or getting ready for the weekend, I’d like to wish you a “Happy Entrepreneurial Thanksgiving”!
– Lisa
PS: If you have a question about how to finish off 2011 strong, post it below!
Lisa, wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving AND a productive evening! Would love to see video of where you went and how you used arbitrage for FBA ๐ I hope it’s not a zoo, and would be very excited to actually see what you scored.
Hoping you and your family had a wonderful day!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and all of our entrepreneurial friends! My finishing strong strategy for 2011 is to write 4 articles a week and post them on Ezine Articles….then other directories. Articles are a powerful source of marketing, and with all of the competition out there and the down-turn in the economy, we need all the boost to our e-businesses we can get! One word to new entrepreneurs would be, if you don’t feel comfortable writing articles, hire it done! It is one of the most powerful tools in marketing your e-business. All the best for the New Year in sight!
Hi Teri!
Fantastic plan to finish the year strong! Article writing is one of the best ways to market your business. No matter what your business model or niche that you sell in! (And you have a great niche to write articles about.)
You make a good point about not having to write your own articles. There are so many places, including elance.com, guru.com that you can get niche articles written. I have clients who are using Fiverr very successfully as well.
PS: It’s 5:00am here and the coffee on your website is looking very delicious! ๐

Hi Lisa,
Just wanted to wish you and your family & staff a wonderful Thanksgiving!
You are one of those people I am thankful for this Thanksgiving ๐ Truly
I was about to give up and was in desperate need of direction in my business.
I believe God sent you to me and not only gave me direction but the next 2 year business plan too.
Your insight & knowledge has helped me more than I could put into words.
My staff thanks you , my manufacturer thanks you.
It is amazing how when we can communicate our knowledge and share what we know what a difference we can make in the world.
Many Blessings,
Camille
Hi, Lisa – I just wanted to thank you for your advice. Several years ago, you mentioned that crafts, especially rubber stamps & scrapbooking were hot items. I looked into it, and found lots of crafters in my area selling off their collections of stamps. It has been huge for me. I sell all kinds of items, but the stamps are a constant seller, all around the world. So THANK YOU for your research and advice. I really enjoy having my own business, to be able to spend time with grandkids, make more money than I could at a job, provide some part-time work for family members, etc. I hope you and your children had a blessed Thanksgiving.
Lisa, Happy Thanksgiving. Sorry, I am very late. We had called 40 people to our house for Thanksgiving so I am very late in reading my emails.
I made a decision back in 2005 to become an entrepreneur and things were hard initially and now I am happy I made that decision to work for myself. I am able to pick up my daughter from school every day and do all kinds of errands every day. I love the freedom
Hi Gopal!
Congratulations on 6 years of entrepreneurship! That’s awesome! I can totally relate to what you said about being able to pick your daughter up after school. I feel the same way about picking my kids up.
When I got started back in 2001, a very successful entrepreneur told me that the real reward to entrepreneurship is the person that you become along the way. After 10 years, I can say that is so true. And you can create the life for yourself and your family that you wish.
PS: 40 people at your house for Thanksgiving! What a wonderful gathering!
